Privacy policy

LATE is a small community project. This is a plain-English explanation of what data is collected, why, and what happens to it. No legalese.
What we collect
When you subscribe, we collect your email address and, optionally, your name(first name only, used to personalize the greeting in emails). That's it.
We don't collect your IP address, browser fingerprint, device information, or location. We don't use tracking pixels or read receipts in emails.
Why we collect it
Your email address is used for one purpose: sending the LATE trail update email every two weeks. Your name, if provided, is used to personalize that email greeting. Nothing else.
How it's stored
Subscriber data is stored in Supabase, a Postgres-based database platform hosted on AWS infrastructure. Data is stored in the US-East region. Supabase encrypts data at rest and in transit.
Emails are sent through Resend, a transactional email platform. Resend processes your email address to deliver messages on our behalf and may retain delivery logs for a limited period. You can review Resend's privacy policy at resend.com/legal/privacy-policy.
Who sees your data
Your information is never sold, rented, traded or shared with third parties for marketing purposes. The only entities that ever process your email address are Supabase (storage) and Resend (delivery), both operating under data processor agreements with appropriate protections.
LATE is a solo project. Your data is accessible only to Kyle Baudour, the project operator.
Cookies and tracking
The late.works website does not use cookies, analytics trackers, or any third-party scripts that observe your behavior. There is no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no retargeting. The site is intentionally as clean as possible.
Email links
Links in LATE emails are not wrapped with click-tracking. When you click a link, you go directly to the destination. We don't record which links you click or whether you opened an email.
Unsubscribing
Every email includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Clicking it removes you immediately. You can also unsubscribe at any time at late.works/unsubscribe.
When you unsubscribe, your status is updated to unsubscribed and you will no longer receive emails. Your record is retained for list hygiene purposes (to prevent accidental re-addition from old confirmation emails). If you want your data deleted entirely, email hello@late.works and we will remove it within 7 days.
Data deletion
You have the right to request deletion of your personal data at any time. Email hello@late.workswith the subject line "Delete my data" and your email address, and we will confirm deletion within 7 days.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a material way, subscribers will be notified via the newsletter. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any revisions.

LATE is operated by Kyle Baudour, based in Longmont, CO. This is a free community project with no commercial motive.
